As part of the Enterprise Analytics organization, the Asset Analytics & Insights (A2I)
team is a dedicated function responsible for developing actionable business
insights related to asset protection, loss prevention, and fraud/diversion
detection within CVS Health’s retail pharmacies. This role will be focused on
building out advanced analytic capabilities and predictive modeling techniques
to support the A2I leadership team in achieving business goals by minimizing
asset loss and risks associated with drug diversion. The successful candidate will lead the
development and production of complex analytics and reporting suites that will
improve visibility into potential diversion and put processes in place to
prevent future losses.

The day-to-day experience of the role will vary – aligning key stakeholders and
team leadership to analytical projects, developing and maintaining statistical
models which flag potential diversion cases based on store ordering and
dispensing, developing metrics and dashboards for field teams and senior
leadership, and developing hypotheses and conducting analyses on complex issues
related to stores, prescribers and patients. This candidate will partner with our A2I organization, as well as
colleagues in Pharmacy Operations, Supply Chain, Legal, Compliance, Finance,
and Information Services, to provide analytical support on key innovation

  • Acting as a thought-partner for key business stakeholders and leaders as they determine how
    to best improve our asset protection and detection processes
  • Collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of
    the issues being solved for, gather analytical requirements, and tailor the
    analytic solution to the specific client need and constraints of delivery
  • Conducting analyses of the data, ranging from descriptive ad-hoc analyses to in-depth
    investigations and outcomes with a variety of statistical modeling approaches
  • Create and implement diversion detection models, working with field loss prevention
    specialists to optimize model sensitivity and specificity
  • Communicate findings using a variety of formats, incorporating compelling visualizations
    where appropriate, to influence multiple audiences including those without
    analytical backgrounds
  • Prioritize, structure timelines, develop project plans, and engage/align stakeholders
    across multiple groups

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office products – PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Word. Similar
    application suites (Open Office, Google Drive, etc.) are acceptable
  • 5+ years’ experience with data modeling/analytics with SQL, SAS, Tableau and/or other
    advanced analytical tools
  • Proficiency in processing large datasets (measured in hundreds of millions or billions of
    records) using SQL or SQL-like query syntax
  • Demonstrated experience in working with business partners and/or clients to identify the
    business problem, identifying proper data, constructing analytic solutions to
    the business problem and then presenting the data insights along with creative
  • Ability to quickly develop knowledge and understanding of new domains and underlying data
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a clear, logical and consistent manner
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects
    simultaneously, adjusting priorities as needed and meeting deadlines


Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare industry knowledge and/or experience
  • Experience with Tableau and/or MicroStrategy
  • Deep knowledge of coding in statistical packages (like SAS, R, and Python) with
    strong quantitative skills, including relevant experience in logistic regression,
    cluster analysis, time series analysis, inferential statistics, and
    experimental design
  • Advanced skills and training in machine learning techniques and other quantitative
    research analytics such as: Non-Linear Regression Analysis, Multivariate Analysis,
    Bayesian Methods, Generalized Linear Models, Decision Trees and Random Forest,
    Non Parametric estimations, Neural Networks, Ensemble Models, etc.
  • High level of independent judgment and initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact and influence at all
  • Strong personal organizational skills and the ability to work across business units
    within a complex organization
