Job Description
As an Employee Relations (ER) Investigator, you are responsible for the execution and ownership of ER
processes and practices,providing expert consultant and guidance to managers and employees. You work to deliver and
ensure appropriate responses to any related employment issues that arise, while proactively supporting and maintaining a positive employment climate. You will lead on specific complex or sensitive cases, and formal processes for manager or above levels.

As directed by the Director, Advice and Counsel Investigator Team, this role will provide guidance and mentoring
to the ER Advisors in market, the ER Investigator will also provide market level oversight on ER activity to the market HR teams/ER Lead, identify trends and recommend appropriate solutions.

You will have responsibility for ensuring legislative and relevant CVS Policy Compliance of business activity and CVS culture, and ensuring that applicable CVS policies are up to date, compliant, maintained and appropriate for the achievement of business needs.

This role will be the liaison to key partners and business on highly sensitive, complex ER matters.

No people management responsibility. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Duties &Responsibilities:
Investigating workplace complaints of violations of policy for which failure to investigate might subject CVS to serious legal or financial risk.

Developing and applying knowledge of employment and discrimination laws, whistleblowing laws, rules of evidence, and other laws pertaining to investigation plans, investigations, reports and recommendations.

Managing Labor Union investigations.

Conducting investigations surrounding labor union ensuring framework and processes around business engagement are established and followed appropriately.

Contributing to the design of collective labor agreements and facilities agreement processes based on
trends and analytically information. Responding to inquiries (via phone call/or email) from employees and managers regarding matters involving employment practices, policies, employment laws and compliance guidelines.

Providing expert advice, guidance and counsel to managers, supervisors and HR colleagues on all ER issues, policy interpretation and questions to include such issues as conduct, capability (performance and sickness) reorganization, termination of employment, employee complaints and compliance issues.

Working in collaboration with other HR COE’s and staff to provide relevant ER expertise in the execution of any initiatives or projects.

Responding to employee issues and questions, providing feedback to managers to ensure appropriate action is
taken where necessary. Working with ER peers, to ensure consistency of advice and guidance provided.

Championing and promoting a positive climate, providing appropriate counsel and support to ensure that any ER processes are delivered to maximize the employee experience.

Required Qualifications
3+ years of ER or Human Resource related experience.

Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications
PHR/SPHR certificates.

PBM industry experience.

Proven problem solving and decision making skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills including expertise in conflict management,
investigation, negotiation and influencing.

Professional and calm demeanor with employees.

Ability to present and deliver training.

Highly organized, and able to prioritize and plan/resources accordingly, in a fast paced, high pressured environment.

Good analytical skills and affinity to metrics.

A sense of urgency and drive for results coupled with ability to establish relationships and partner effectively with all

levels of the organization.

Computer skills word, excel, PeopleSoft or similar payroll/benefit/incident management systems/sales force plus.

Knowledge of current state and federal legal and regulatory legislations in Employment Law.

Excellent follow through and attention to detail.

Excellent organization skills with particular emphasis on accuracy.

Exercises discretion/independent judgment and make decisions in timely manner.

Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.

Good business insight.

Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience
