CVS Health Pharmacy Technician Training Program

Our Pharmacy Training Program, LearnRx, is designed to support newly hired pharmacy colleagues with learning and development. The program is 120 days, and teaches new technicians customer service skills, the business of pharmacy, patient safety, pharmacy workflow and inventory. LearnRx meets the requirements as an accredited pharmacy training program for licensure and we provide additional resources and support to help colleagues acquire their license.

During your training path, you will have support from other colleagues in your store, your Pharmacy Manager, high performing Pharmacy Technicians who double as coaches, and Field Colleague Trainers. They will guide you through our highly structured program and help you to stay on track throughout your training journey.

We encourage our pharmacy technicians to become nationally certified, and we offer additional classes and materials to help colleagues study for the national exam. CVS Health will sponsor eligible colleagues to take the exam by covering the cost of the exam. In states where ASHP/ACPE is required, we have an extended program to meet those needs and provide colleagues with the deeper level of knowledge necessary to satisfy the requirement.

Additionally, colleagues who stay with CVS Health can develop their skills further to become a Coach, Inventory Specialist, Lead Technician, or even a Field Colleague Trainer.
