The Accounts Payable Team Lead will manage a general range of accounting clerical and administrative functions such as support team members with processing accounts payable, training, and researching issues. In this role, the Accounts Payable Team Lead will assume additional accounts payable functions as well as undertake the more complex supplier
related issues. They will assist with resolving supplier payment and invoice variances and be a primary point of contact for all Expense related supplier questions. They will also be responsible for the training of new hires and existing team members.

Job Responsibilities:
- Research, analyze, and resolve supplier issues in a timely, accurate and professional manner.

- Be the primary point of contact for suppliers and internal business stakeholders on all.
- Expense related issues and communicate a timely response/resolution within the identified metrics’ time frames.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency at all times and respond to issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Research Supplier Correspondence related to the following as well as to analyze the differences as it relates to payment variances:
- Payment discrepancies.
- Missing invoices/upload issues.
- Cash discount and payment term discrepancies.
- Proper internal approvals and GL coding accuracy.
- Process adjustments and payments in accordance with the CVS Supplier Policy.
- Invoice entry – via manual entry or performing excel uploads.
- Review exception reporting daily.
- Work with suppliers and external CVS departments to resolve supplier invoicing issues.
- Train new hires and review processes with existing team members.
- Handle/work with team members on the more complicated vendor correspondence issues and assist team members with questions on vendor issues.
- Cross train on individual tasks/processes.
- Create and update department SOP’s.
- Working with the Management Team, make recommendations to streamline/improve processes within Accounts Payable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of Accounts Payable
- 1+ years of MS Office experience

Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent decision making ability and independent reasoning skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written and strong interpersonal skills) with an ability to communicate professionally with staff, leadership.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to recognize and formulate change for areas of improvement in order to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Displays a high degree of organizational agility to help the A/P department to react quickly and successfully to the development of new efficiencies, processes, and/or technologies or sudden shifts in overall market conditions.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Excellent ability to work with others internal to Accounts Payable and outside of Accounts Payable.
- Experience working in multiple ERP systems, specifically SAP and PeopleSoft.
- Experience within a large, retail organization.
- Clear understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Payable best practices.

Education
Verifiable Associates degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degrees in Finance, Accounting or Business, or MBA with a similar concentration preferred.
