Job Description1. The Network Security Service Owner is responsible for all matters pertaining to the following six technologies:
a. Web Proxy
b. Intrusion Prevention System
c. Malware Protection System
d. Network Access Control
2. The Network Security Service Owner (NSSO) is responsible for all of the following:
a. Increasing the return on investment (ROI) for all technologies within the NSSO’s domain;
b. Coordinating product and network changes;
c. Pushing new policy updates to all appliances;
d. Collaborating and working with network; firewall, security, engineering and architecture teams under different leadership within the enterprise to resolve incidents and close security gaps;
e. Project management;
f. Patching and upgrading all technologies within the NSSO’s domain;
g. Root cause analysis (RCA) for network and system outages;
h. Leading and directing incident bridges for network and system outages;
i. Compiling and reporting on key performance indicators (KPI) and associated metrics for the team and the team’s tools/technologies
3. The NSSO will have a team (of 2 – 4) advisors/analysts reporting directly to him/her and will be responsible for all human-resources related activities, including mid-year and year-end review.
4. The NSSO will report directly to the Senior Manager of Security Operations for CVS/Health.
5. The skills required to succeed in this position include but are not limited to the following:
a. Leadership and team management;
b. project management, incident management, change management;
c. technical writing;
d. report writing;
f. conflict resolution;
g. inter-department work;
h. log analysis;
6. This position demands high availability. Work can occur at every hour of the day. Day, night and weekend work is required as part of a rotation. Required Qualifications5 years’ experience working in an information security or IT operations related field in an enterprise environment
· Strong technical skills working with network security technologies: Network Access Control, Intrusion Protection System, Web Proxy,
· Solid understanding on how DNS functions and the architecture of DNS.
High school diploma or GED plus equivalent work experience required. Preferred QualificationsGraduate from a four-year university with a degree or major course work in computer
science, telecommunications, networking, engineering or other computer-related field of study preferred.
