Job Description


The Truck Operator will operate tractor trailers and/or
straight trucks to deliver Distribution Center merchandise to stores in a safe
and timely manner, and will pick up and return merchandise and / or empty totes
to the Distribution Center.
The Truck
operator will also be responsible for moving tractor trailers around the CRDC
truck yard, as well as complete shuttle runs as assigned.



The Truck Operator will perform these functions on an
as-needed basis, to cover open routes due to CRDC drivers’ absences, vacations
or other time off, or as a result of seasonal operational needs.



This position is an element of the Houston DC Driver
Development Program, which provides growth opportunities for current CVS colleagues
who desire to learn new skills and expand their knowledge of private fleet
transportation.

>Minimum of six months’ driving experience.

>MUST BE 100% COMMITTED TO WORKING SAFELY and be
accident-free for 12 months.

>Must be at least 21 years of age.

>Ability to work flexible hours and / or shifts.

>Must have good attendance: no written
counselings for attendance policy violations.

>Must possess current CDL (Commercial Driver’s
License) or plan to obtain one within 90 days.

>Must be able to attend 100% of assigned training

>Ability to pass all Department of Transportation
physicals and Substance Abuse Testing.

>Certification of Department of Transportation

>Meet all Department of Transportation
requirements regarding driver qualifications (FMCSR 391.11).

>Ability to perform physical activities such as
lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, reaching, stooping, walking, standing, and
climbing.

>Ability to move heavy pallets at store delivery
with pump jack.

>Optionally interested in relocation to a CVS Private
Fleet facility that is in a hiring phase.
