Job Description
We are seeking a Category Designer to partner with our Category Management group to develop our category
merchandising plans. You will execute the plans across all main and alternate versions of planograms, seasonal and off-shelf bulletins. As a Category Designer, you will be an expert on shopper insights and category performance metrics to entice customers to make purchases within our stores.

Additionally, you will develop and present merchandising solutions that drive profitable sales and orchestrate shopper behavior. You will also analyze competitor's product display techniques and department layouts to benchmark
best practices and bring new innovative display concepts and ideas to our company.

Additional responsibilities of Category Designer include:

-Perform analysis using Self-Serve, Category MAP, Extra Care Data Portal and Data monitor

-Identify best merchandising solutions, clustering, product positioning and space management

-Determine correct product facings to ensure planogram holding capacity so customer satisfaction and sales are optimized

-Clearly communicate strategies to help educate internal and field based management

-Manage Supplier Partner workload for assigned categories

-Review and analyze marketing data to integrate supplier ideas to develop best in class planograms

-Creatively merchandise product and identify sales opportunities in order to maximize sales

-Educate store personnel through communications with regard to driving sales, incremental purchases and product presentation strategies

-Assist in the training and development of new support staff

-Assist in the development of systems and process enhancements

-Effectively influence and interact with all levels within the organization

Required Qualifications
5+ years of retail store management or merchandise display experience.

Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred user of Space Management software applications.
- Preferred user of In-Design Software Application
- Preferred user of Space Management Software Applications
- Excellent oral, written, presentation and analytical skills
- Ability to work and influence within a cross functional team environment
- Ability to plan, coordinate and set priorities on several projects simultaneously while meeting all deadlines
- Proficient user of Excel, Word and Access
- Ability to analyze sales, market trend, demographic and competitor assessment data and formulate and communicate successful action plans
- Ability to set goals, measure and report on results and adjust plans based on changing internal and external influences

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Management or other business related area is required
