Job DescriptionThis Application Development Sr. Manager is accountable for the IT product ownership, development and implementation of a critical Benefit Automation Program. You will provide leadership and guidance for all projects and systems, supporting the existing Benefit Builder area of the business. This position manages the relationship between IT and the Business area owners to ensure that IT is proactively identifying and providing strategic opportunities to advance the business goals through technology. This role directs a top notch organization of software developers who identify, design and deliver technology solutions using Java, Oracle and MetaData, and Unix technology stack to achieve the defined business value. It is critical that this Sr. Manager candidate have in depth background in SDLC and Agile Scrum and XP. In addition, Director is especially looking for someone who is very familiar with Benefit Set Up across our LOBs.
Accountable for working with IT colleagues to ensure that all IT resources needed to support the development and ongoing maintenance of applications in their area are effectively coordinated. Manages the relationship with customers in their assigned business area, consulting on the most effective utilization of technology and proactively managing expectations. Drives hiring and the termination process and identifies and coordinates training for staff. Coaches and mentors team member, reviews periodic and annual performance of team members. Creates technology vision and Roadmap for how Benefit product should retire or evolve over the next 2-3 years. Required Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of overall IT experience, including the following:
Minimum of 5 years leading or managing IT application teams Minimum of 8 years experience with Java Development and Oracle. Minimum of 5 years of actual Agile/Scrum experience Working knowledge of IT asset discovery and inventory processes and services Proven leadership skills around resource planning, delegating, estimating and prioritizing work. Software development experience in numerous IT applications, tools, languages and infrastructure Understanding of IT security and compliance remediation activities Capable of leading the ongoing Maintenance of an existing product Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing, to audiences at various levels Ability to develop an IT Team committed to partnering with the Business and experience communicating upward in the IT and Business organizations Attention to detail, even while handling multiple priorities Proven ability to maximize the potential of employees via coaching and focused development. Deep understanding of techniques and best practices for minimizing Development Defects that can escape to QA.Preferred QualificationsExperience with working with other sr. managers to maximize reuse of code and data. Experience in the development and management of an annual budget, including financial analysis. Establishes and reports on project and service level metrics to ensure that work is delivered efficiently, cost effectively and that processes are continually improved for both the internal and external customer Maintains an awareness of new developments in IT technology and ensures successfully training opportunities are provided along with introduction to product. Maintains an awareness of changes in CVS Business strategies, and those of competitors, and their implications for Information Technology Leadership in the PBM space.
Bachelors in Computer Science or
equivalent. Will accept one year of work experience for each year of
college not completed in addition to required years of experience.
