Job Description CVS Health is looking for a dynamic leader for the role of IT Director of Application Development for Benefit Automation ultimately accountable for the overall delivery and management of solutions that drive the management of all Benefit automation applications. Reporting to the Head of Formulary And Benefit Automation in PBM IT, you will partner and build trusted relationships with CVS Health business Leaders in Client Services as well as partner with IT Leaders across PBM IT.
In this role, you will provide overall IT leadership and strategic technology direction to the current CVS Health Benefit Center of Excellence by partnering with the Business, defining the Benefits Application Roadmap and by working with Chief Benefits Architect to determine 3-5 year architecture vision. Your team and colleagues will be accountable for achieving results (program, operational, quality, financial and organizational, etc.) and effectively communicating progress with business partners as well as managing the financial performance of projects within the portfolio and effectively managing spend while ensuring a cost effective approach to project delivery.
Additional responsibilities include:
-Deliver comprehensive communication to IT management regarding the status and activities of the team both in written and presentation form.
-Manage multiple concurrent IT projects in different business areas with varying technologies, set priorities and meet deadlines.
-Analyze project performance to implement corrective actions when necessary.
-Use metrics to manage the overall program quality and compliance of the environment while driving continuous improvement and continuously assess and report quality of service.
-Provide organizational development and people management,including hiring/firing, performance management, training/development, along with career and succession planning.
-Facilitate status, performance, and career objective discussions, which include conducting regular leadership meetings with your staff and setting clear expectations for all direct reports.
-Oversee compliance of IT standards, software development methodology, and recommends/provides input Agile software development methodologies.
-Introduce more innovative ideas for both software development tooling, process and application automation Lead client and internal discussions, manage communications and key interactions for transparent, constructive collaboration.
-Build and drive a high performing, highly engaged organization with a continuous improvement culture using the right combination of goal setting, metrics, process, talent management, and rewards.-Example-setting leadership style and developing the team culture to show high regard for adherence to quality standards while simultaneously operating at maximum efficiency.
Required Qualifications -Minimum 10 years of overall IT experience including the following:
-Minimum 3 years’ experience with benefit automation application development in the healthcare Industry and automation.
-Experience building a strong network and relationships at many levels across IT functions and strong partnership with the Business.
-Demonstrated experience with navigating complex organizations and administrative processes.
-Successful delivery of large programs that require collaboration across multiple technology groups.
-Prior leadership experience in an application development role
-Working with business partners/clients and projects related to technology.
-Minimum 3 years of full time experience with Scrum and XP Agile software development methodologies
-Minimum of 4 years of actual coding and software development
Preferred Qualifications -Demonstrated successful delivery of Automation Applications Claims processing and ideally RxClaim knowledge
-Strong familiarity with Benefit Plan Set up and overall PBM Business
-Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Education-BS in Computer Science, Information Management or
other equivalent area
-MBA or MS in CS, Information Management highly preferred
