Job Description
The Pharmacy Data Warehouse is looking for an accomplished Senior Data Warehouse Architect with previous experience designing data warehouse systems consisting of transactional, analytical and big data components. The Technical Lead is responsible for developing architectural blueprints, patterns, applying enterprise thinking to drive value
beyond the current project and for delivering high quality estimates, design and project deliveries. The Senior Architect will drive the data architecture solutions that are consistent with enterprise standards. Create and provide direction and oversight for data modelers on the design of relational and dimensional models. Interface with upstream system architects, developers and program managers to resolve data issues and drive capture of data needed by business customers. Evolve and support the basic tenets of good data architecture. The Technical Lead works on one or more projects at all stages of the system lifecycle (define, design, and build).
- Provide technical leadership in developing vision, strategy, architecture and overall design for assigned domain and for solutions.
- Lead teams, technical projects or programs, and has overall leadership responsibility for project architecture and design.
- Actively facilitate complex design and technical discussions, reconciling differing opinions and drives decision making process.
- Review and ensure architectural designs are consistent, maintainable, flexible, and cost
effective.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring throughout the project lifecycle
- Proactively identify reuse opportunities.
- Articulate the tradeoffs, benefits and risks of all architecture and design solutions.
- Own strategy of: System monitoring, Capacity planning, Disaster recovery, Production
implementation and architecture.

Required Qualifications
* Minimum 8 years of related responsible experience working with large and complex data warehouse systems with hands-on data architecture experience
* Minimum 8 years of recent experience working with Oracle in a multi terabytes environment
* Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in database and SQL performance tuning (Teradata BTEQ,
Oracle PL/SQL)
* Minimum 5 years of experience in designing & developing logical & physical data model using data warehouse methodologies, including Star schema - Star-joined schemas, conformed dimensions data architecture, early/late binding techniques, and data modeling
*The candidate must have hands on knowledge of Big Data landscape, specifically hands on working with Hadoop (Hortonworks), Unix/Linux operating systems as well as storage
configurations. Working knowledge of open source tools such as: Hadoop technology (Hadoop, Sqoop, Hive,etc.), Python and bash.
* Extensive hands-on technical knowledge of Data Warehouse Architecture, ETL, Database & SQL performance tuning
* Knowledge of data warehouse software development lifecycles (SDLC) including Project Management
and BI analytics using Lean and Agile
* Leadership/ staff mentoring ability
* Multi-tasking ability
* Interpersonal communications skills

Preferred Qualifications
*General knowledge about the health care industry, understanding of underlying business functions
* Experience with Data Quality & MDM and working with data governance teams
* Experience with Metadata Management tool

Education
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
