CVS has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Retail Pharmacy Quality & Patient Safety to join our growing team! As the Director, you will be a key leader in the Pharmacy Professional Services organization and will be responsible for leading a number of critical programs designed to ensure that the highest levels of safety and quality pharmaceutical care are delivered across our 9,600+ community pharmacy practice settings. In this role, you will be responsible for leading efforts to continuously improve dispensing accuracy through the development and execution of an annual Patient Safety Plan for the retail pharmacy organization. A primary component of this role requires using data analytics to identify patient safety and quality risks, and the creation and implementation of new processes, programs, training and system improvements to mitigate or eliminate those risks.
In this position, you will also be accountable for leading our current suite of pharmacy quality programs, to include: pharmacy compounding quality, REMS program quality, and our professional accreditation programs. We're proud to say that CVS/pharmacy is currently the only national pharmacy chain to have earned Community Pharmacy Accreditation from URAC. Additionally, we are DMEPOS Accredited through the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy. As the Director, you will oversee the accreditation renewal process, maintaining our day-to-day relationship with these organizations, and ensuring our retail pharmacy practice follows the quality standards established by each organization.
The Director of Pharmacy Quality & Safety is responsible for monitoring the quality of the pharmaceutical care and services provided by our team of community pharmacists. As such, this role will lead the development of a newly formed auditing function, utilizing a variety of auditing methods designed to assess the overall quality of the pharmacy services provided to our customers. In this capacity, you will play a meaningful part in the creation of key metrics, score cards, accountability programs and incentive plans designed to promote continuous quality improvement across our fleet of retail pharmacies.
Required Qualifications A minimum of 3 years of experience in the following areas:
Identifying business issues and building solutions
Creating strategic, analytical and financial frameworks to conduct analysis and/or measure success
Leading multiple enterprise level projects concurrently
Demonstrated key performance indicators and analysis experience
Leadership experience managing and developing a team of 3 or more direct reports
At least 5 years of increasing responsibility in roles within the corporate, consulting, retail operational/field environment,
or related experience
Preferred Qualifications Established track record of accomplishment in a leadership role focused on quality assurance work and/or defect reduction in a high reliability industry
Retail and/or Strategy Consulting experience
Strategic management consulting experience post MBA with a leading consulting firm with a strong healthcare focus, consumer packaged goods, manufacturing or quality assurance
Previous PharmD experience or a degree in a pharmacy related field preferred
Master’s degree preferred
