Position Summary:

The Director, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) will have the primary responsibility of developing the multi-year vision,goals, strategies and tactics to drive step-change organic traffic to all CVS Health properties, as well as conversion via a best-in-class onsite search experience. Specific responsibilities include:

Organic Search Strategy and Channel Development:

· Evangelize the power of SEO in driving incremental traffic and positive business outcomes across the organization, partnering with key stakeholders in Marketing, IT,Merchandising, Analytics, PR, Social and SEM to implement best practices thatwill optimize our SEO presence across all digital properties.
· Develop and oversee execution of a multi-year SEO strategy, which includes content, site architecture, link-building and keyword selection/utilization.
· Monitor SEO trends and investigate irregularities in performance.
· Gather and draw insights from data that can help define areas of improvements and optimization.
· Oversee SEO 3rdparty relationships to drive continuous improvement in results, leveraging various internal and external analytics tools to measure and report upon performance and Troubleshoot and identify technical issues that might be affecting our overall ranking
· Development and execution against forecast goals


Onsite Search Strategy and Channel Development:

· Lead company-wide efforts to improve site search experience and product/content find ability on CVS.com.
· Develop and manage comprehensive onsite search road map.
· Responsible for producing detailed functional requirements documents for onsite search enhancements. Work closely with IT and Product Managers to see through timely implementation, testing and release to production and monitor and measure results. Work collaboratively with Merchandising, Operations, IT and Product Managers to establish, and implement taxonomy, product data standards, guidelines, and best practices in
order to optimize onsite search relevance.
· Lead internal training of search optimization best practices to increase overall search IQ across the organization.
· Develop search measurement plans.
· Monitor and report on onsite search metrics and KPIs.
· Analyze onsite search experience and performance.
· Rely on both qualitative and quantitative analyses to identify and execute opportunities for improvements, including bench-marking CVS.com search experience vs.best in class onsite search experience Design, oversee execution of, and report back on search experience testing (A/B, MVT).
· Develop, grow and retain team of colleagues.


Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years experience developing and implementing search optimization strategies, technical evaluations–crawlers, spiders, natural search white hat Search Engine Optimization with a proven track record in structured, logical thinking, problem solving, issue resolution and attention to detail and track record of successfully conceptualizing and managing discrete products end-to-end in a dynamic environment.
  • 10+ years of experience in SEO product development/management within a digital setting
  • 5-10+ years of experience implementing digital marketing technologies
  • 5+ years of experience partnering with multiple groups (IT, Marketing) to define and execute on a road map
  • 10+ years of experience in roles requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills & the creation and delivery of succinct executive-level presentations.
  • 5+ years of people management.
  • 8+ years of experience using quantitative skills with the ability to link product design and features to strategic objectives while using hard data and metrics to substantiate assumptions and recommendations
  • 10+ years of experience in roles which require initiative to drive projects, tenacity to delivery results in a complex environment, and the ability to manage across many projects.


Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree preferred
