Position Summary:
As a Front End Developer – Javascript, you will partner with Software Engineers, Quality Assurance, and Operations Engineers to build web application that has a direct impact on retail advertising and marketing within CVS Health. You will work with various programming languages, including Ruby on Rails, Python, and PHP, and write client applications using Javascript, Angular, and Ember.

You will design clients for a RESTful API and work predominantly in the client-side of Javascript and CSS. You will write partner with other developers to ensure that RESTful API is useable, efficient, and continues on a progressive path within the retail industry. The API you will be working with is utilized for both promotional opportunities and houses product information for the company. You will specialize in Agile methodologies, utilizing Scrum and Kanban as needed.

The Web Applications Team is dedication to learning and collaboration, personal career growth, and improving our impact on the business. The software that you develop creates in-store signing, automates newspaper circular production, and handles image processing, along with managing web content for CVS.com.

This position will be based in Woonsocket, RI.

Additional responsibilities of the Front End Developer – Javascript include:
* Partnering with teammates to write code for new web-based software applications, using client-side techniques.

Designing attractive and efficient user interfaces.
*
Working with application developers and software engineers to design RESTful APIs.
*
Maintaining and improving in-house software applications used for circular and signing production, online promotions, photography and asset management solutions, and data exchange.
*
Working with product owners and partners to define project requirements.
*
Adopting new technological developments and incorporating them into new practices and tool skillsets.

Required Qualifications:
* 5+ years’ experience working with Javascript for client-side scripting.
*
5+ years’ experience with front-end frameworks and grid systems for responsive design (Bootstrap).
*
5+ years’ experience utilizing web programming languages (Ruby on Rails, PHP, Python).
*
3+ years’ experience using Linux and Open Source software.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Retail industry experience.
*
Experience using Version Control (GIT) Task Automation, Infrastructure in Code, and Continuous Integration with Jenkins.
*
Experience with HTML5 and Handlebars.
*
Experience with Apple-based systems.
*
Familiarity with AngularJS or Ember.
*
Understanding of REST principles.
*
Design experience with API resources.
*
Experience with database back-ends, including PostgreSQL.

Education:
* Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
*
Will consider High School Diploma/GED and experience in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
