Position Summary:
In this exciting leadership role, you will serve as a key leader of programs that drive enhanced value through improved delivery of impactful analytic insights and improved data visualization and statistical analyses as part of an Enterprise-wide initiative. The position is responsible for leading an analytics team in developing analytic solutions and reporting products focused on empowering business teams across retail to drive innovation in our business.

A day in the life of this position involves:
  • Overseeing the development and daily management of a team of highly skilled analysts and data scientists on the Retail Operation Analytics team, planning and managing the Retail project roadmap and associated budget for current and coming years, and building and maintaining relationships across Pharmacy and Store Operations, IT and Enterprise Analytics (among others);
  • Rapidly developing a deep understanding of CVS data and processes across multiple lines of business as well as leading the team to do the same;
  • Providing expertise and consultation to the team on analytic coding questions, data solutions and BI development as they perform analytic work to answer business questions;
  • Demonstrating your curiosity to learn about enterprise solutions which will include data solutions, business intelligence solutions (including Tableau and MicroStrategy) and clearing obstacles for the team as they work on projects to scale and operationalize analyses across the Enterprise;
  • Crafting the analytic strategy, project and team roadmap recommendation slides for presentation to business partners and senior leadership;
  • Leading efforts to embed and increase the use of analytics and exception reporting across standard reporting layers;
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of data and analytics process documentation;
  • Leading team members to develop predictive models and machine learning algorithms; working with IT to transition these analytic projects into production solutions.

Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need to have the following experience:























  • A minimum of 8 years of recent hands-on data analysis and statistical programming experience (SAS, R, Python, etc.) along with advanced knowledge of statistical and data science concepts (machine learning, classification, data clustering, time series forecasting, etc.);







  • At least 5 years of formal management experience leading a team of highly technical and analytics experts in delivering work across multiple concurrent projects – both planned and unplanned- to drive actionable insights that can be deployed broadly across CVS Health;







  • A consistent track record of proven results using a variety of analytical methods and data visualization skills to address business issues; Experience managing project budgets and planning yearly roadmaps;









  • Experience influencing leadership at Vice President-level and above, including experience leading impactful conversations with senior leadership in both business and technical spheres;









  • Recent experience conducting analytics work, when needed, as well as leading analysts and non-analysts on larger scale projects;









  • Experience with SQL and other tools for wrangling data into shape for analytic purposes;









  • Knowledge of data solutions and data warehousing concepts in both traditional and “big data” technologies;







  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross functional initiatives working closely with both business partners and technical IT solutions teams;









  • Experience mentoring and developing analytic talent, including developing skills in framing problems, analytical methods, and communicating insights through verbal and written communication and data visualization skills;







  • Experience with Microsoft Office products - Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated leadership competencies such as teamwork, creative problem solving and flexibility;







  • Experience processing large datasets (measured in hundreds of millions or billions of records);







  • A strong curiosity to learn and apply predictive modeling and data science techniques and tools;







  • Proven ability to work within a climate of ambiguity;







  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues in multiple offices across different time zones;







  • Strong personal and team organizational skills;







  • Excellent relationship management, strong team building, and the ability to work across business units within a complex organization;











  • 3+ years analytics experience in the healthcare industry.





Education:
BA/BS in Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or Equivalent; MBA preferred
