A Spanish Immersion internship provides interns the opportunity to participate in the care of patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions, focusing on the Hispanic community and utilizing the Spanish language. Therapeutic principles as well as documentation, communication skills (including Spanish), and drug information skills are emphasized daily through interaction with patients and other health care professionals.

A leadership summer internship will allow interns with an interest in management to build leadership skills in the community pharmacy division. Interns will spend one-on-one time with leaders in a variety of positions including field operations, corporate and non-retail divisions. Interns will have an opportunity to present their learnings in capstone projects.

A managed care summer internship is designed to apply principles learned in class to real world settings within a PBM. Work with clinical pharmacists within four uniquely different departments, a large prior approval program, a sophisticated MTM service, a pharmacy fraud waste and abuse program, and a clinical consultative services team. The intention of this internship is to mirror the clinical practice of pharmacy leaders in a PBM company.

A Long-Term Care summer internship provides students with the opportunity to learn the roles of dispensing, infusion, consultant, and management pharmacists. This internship will enable students to provide services to geriatric inpatients in skilled nursing and senior living facilities. Interns will be actively involved with compounding intravenous products including TPNs, and learn about medications administered in dosage forms that long-term patients utilize.

A home infusion summer internship will allow interns to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses, dieticians, social workers and pharmacy technicians. Coram offers a step-down health care treatment plan for patients that are well enough to not be in the hospital but need additional treatment support. The intern will be involved with direct patient care, work flow, care planning, and multi-disciplinary meetings.

A specialty innovation summer internship will introduce students to technology, processes, and programs directed at improving patient care. During this internship, interns will participate in a structured program plan, hands-on project work, and learning and development sessions.
