Store Manager in Training Program
We developed the Store Manager In Training (SMIT) role to give people like you a foundation of management skills as well as an understanding of inventory, staff development, and what it means to work with purpose. Your time as a SMIT will vary in length based on your experience. When complete, you’ll be ready to step in and run a CVS Pharmacy as a store manager.
Support and Training
Working alongside a store manager, you’ll be involved with the strategic operation of a CVS Pharmacy store. This includes customer service leadership, store management, supervision, and policy implementation, sales and inventory management, employee staffing, training, and development, and financial management.
Program Highlights
- The SMIT program lasts between 12 weeks and 24 months.
- You will be trained to run a CVS Pharmacy store as a Store Manager.

Program Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- 4-year college degree is preferred, as is some retail experience as a supervisor or manager.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule, including early morning, overnight, and weekend shifts.
- Ability to transfer to other locations within the area.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the role and the company.
