Pharmacy Business Leadership

Final-year PharmD students can access advanced leadership experiences to develop as clinicians, managers, and leaders—the three core roles of a pharmacist. Gain insight into multi-unit leadership and build critical business skills through opportunities available nationwide.

Community Pharmacy

Learn what it means to be a community pharmacist by counseling patients, delivering immunizations, understanding the legal requirements for dispensing prescription medications and ensuring the pharmacy is staffed and scheduled to meet patient needs.

Corporate

Engage in real-time strategic business initiatives to understand how our colleagues are joining forces to reinvent health care. Experiences vary each year and have included focus areas such as Professional Pharmacy practice, Enterprise Innovation, Product Development, Pharmacy Growth and Patient Safety. 

Managed Care

With the support of a clinical pharmacy team, you’ll learn how formularies are created and managed, complete drug utilization reviews and evaluate new client offerings to identify how building the right health plan can lower health care costs and improve patient outcomes.

Overview:
The CVS Health® Specialty Innovation Residency program is designed to provide an exciting opportunity to work within the
junction of specialty pharmacy and managed care. The residents will have concentrated experiences with product development, clinical strategy and innovation, as well as client management.

Program Overview
The CVS Health® Clinical Quality Evolution Fellowship is a one-year program designed to immerse two post-graduate pharmacists in the corporate pharmacy setting, with a focus on clinical decision support and quality standards. The two fellows join the Retail Clinical & Quality standards team within Pharmacy Operations at the corporate office in Woonsocket, RI from July 1, 2027, to June 30, 2028.

This program is designed to cultivate future CVS Health leaders and offers comprehensive training and development, mentorship from business leaders, and opportunities to support impactful projects.
