CVS Health has an exciting opportunity to join our growing team as Pharmacist - Clinical Development in Northbrook, IL.Required Qualifications1. 3+ years of relevant work experience in a pharmacy inpatient, outpatient, or managed-care setting. As the Clinical Development pharmacist you will perform clinical research for the development and support of clinical content for CVS Health programs including drug utilization review, safety communications, drug coverage programs and formulary management strategies. Additionally, you will support Clinical Affairs projects and be an integral part of a clinical team identifying therapeutic alternatives for formulary strategies. Strong knowledge of therapeutics and standards in medical practice is required across all drug categories including specialty drugs. Working knowledge of the Medi-Span drug database is desirable.
As Clinical Development pharmacist you should have knowledge of formulary design and utilization management strategies that support formulary programs. Proficiency in creating clinical content that is compatible across all business segments (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and Exchange) is required with the ability to clearly communicate clinical recommendations in a timely manner.
2. Knowledge of medical literature retrieval and review, clinical program development, and health education.
3. Ability to interpret, evaluate, and utilize evidence-based medical information to develop clinical intervention programs and other managed care products.
4. Previous medical writing experience.
5. PC Office software including Excel, Word, & Powerpoint, Access.
6. Proven ability to work collaboratively and to influence others.
7. Detail oriented and able to prioritize activities.
8. Licensed Pharmacist in the State of IllinoisPreferred Qualifications1. Residency or BCPS. Knowledge of PBM and benefit design
2. 3+ years of Managed Care or PBM experience
3. Working knowledge of drug management systems (e.g., Medi-Span, First Databank)
EducationB.S. Pharmacy or PharmD. Active pharmacist license in good standing.
