Job Description
As the MariaDB Database Administrator, Advisor you will utilize your expertize to provide physical database support for all MariaDB databases while also ensuring its integrity and availability. This position will be responsible for monitoring, analysis and tuning database performance at both the system and application level.

Additional responsibilitiesinclude:

-Providing design, development, implementation,and operation of database security.
-Implementing database solutions for new development with consideration to impacts to application, network, hardware,and operating system.
-Forecasting long-range requirements for database administration.
-Providing physical database design as well as participate in application and system architecture design.
-Designing and implementing database backup and recovery strategies while also managing database and database support tool configurations in development, test, and production environments.
-Preparing disaster recovery documentation and participate in DR activities. Providing on-call problem support in a 24x7environment.
-Documenting database environment and support processes.
-Mentoring development of other database administrators.
-Defining and implementing policies, procedures,and standards for tools and methodologies to improve database administration capabilities and efficiencies.
-Planing and leading database team initiated projects.

-On-call rotation in support of system.

Required Qualifications
-Nine years in information technology with at least five of
those years as an Operational DBA specializing in configuration and tuning.
-Deep knowledge of MariaDB database administration at the
design, operational, and system levels.
-MariaDB experience specifically version 10.1 and 10.2
version is required.
-Knowledgeable of MariaDB monitoring and tuning through the use
of Monyog.
-Proven competency in tuning complex database systems at the
application, database and system levels.
-Command and expertize with, database security, backup,
recovery and archiving.
- Proven project management skills
-Demonstrated collaboration, facilitation, and
multi-functional team skills.

Preferred Qualifications
-Having knowledge of connection pooling, JDBC
connectivity features, and TLS 1.2 connectivity to database..
-Advanced knowledge of Unix/Linux OS.
-Knowledge of mysql.
-Understanding of MariaDB replication and
Performance Schema.
-Knowledge of and experience with scripting.
-Knowledge and experience running databases in an Oracle Rdb environment.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills.
