Job Description

As Sr. Advisor, you will work with and lead both full-time employees and contracted resources to execute project work within the IT organization at CVS Health. You will ensure that project initiatives and guidelines meet both internal and client requirements and are delivered on-time.

The Sr. Advisor position is a leadership role. The Sr. Advisor leads, develops and participates in the prioritization of the overall architecture discipline within IT with a focus on delivering desired business vision and outcomes.

The Sr. Advisor is an essential contributor and participates in the following:

Definition, design and execution of the technical IT strategy, goals and objectives. Establishment of system architecture, defining essential design features and providing a framework for IT professionals to follow. Evaluation of technologies, definition of standards, solution design and reference architecture definition. Documenting and managing the implementation of multi-year roadmaps. Addressing problems of system integration and compatibility. Ensuring the technical completeness and correctness of the integrated system; adequately addressing all stakeholder concerns.

Providing thought-leadership, advocacy, articulation, assurance and maintenance of the architecture discipline. Ensuring the integrity of the architecture by connecting various views and reconciling conflicting concerns from
different stakeholders. Exercising a practical approach to supporting the business. Mentoring and oversight of for less experienced professionals.

This position determines and develops architectural approaches and solutions, conduct business reviews, document current systems and develop recommendations of how to proceed with the applications. Play a significant role in the planning of the overall IT strategy for Specialty Pharmacy. Document architectural models or views that show how
the current and future needs of the organization will be met in an efficient, sustainable, agile and adaptable manner.

Participate in the development of architecture deliverables, including roadmaps, models and standards for all of Specialty business and capability domains. Maintain and publish Architecture artifacts.

Collaborate with stakeholders, both leadership and subject matter experts, to build a holistic view of the organization's
strategy, processes, information and information technology assets. Partner with solution development and infrastructure leads to ensure solutions are in alignment with standards.

Contribute to the creation and development of the technology roadmap that defines current technical architectures, future architectures and the evolution for transition for all projects. Lead strategic technological planning to achieve
company’s goals by prioritizing technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment and management of current and future technologies; ensure alignment to business and technology future state architecture.

Translate strategic requirements into a usable architecture, which may include a data model, associated metadata, common business vocabulary, ontology, and taxonomy, which serves to guide solution development and achieve consistency of information assets across the application portfolio. Operate across organizational and computing
"silos" to drive common approaches and to expose information assets and processes across the Specialty division.

Oversee mapping of architecture models to packaged application models to determine impact or assess suitability of vendor solutions to Specialty Reference architecture requirements.

Ability to balance the long-term and short-term implications of individual decisions. Ability to translate business needs into architecture requirements. Ability to apply multiple solutions to business problems. Advanced knowledge of IT systems, practices and development life cycles. Advanced knowledge of architecture modeling.

Strong analytical skills and experience; ability to recognize, analyze and solve complex problems. Strong data management skills; ability to audit, format, model and analyze large data sets. Ability to develop system solutions for operational problems. Ability to create concise roadmaps for complex technological problems. Strong collaboration skills in order to partner effectively across various levels of the organization. Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at levels of the organization. Strong organization and process improvement skills. Ability to effectively handle pressures and demands of deadlines and competing priorities. Ability to handle confidential information and material with the highest degree of professional responsibility. Ability to interact with internal business partners at a senior management level to clarify requirements and business needs for
changes and enhancements. Ability to prioritize tasks to meet business needs, including prioritizing the work of others on the team, when needed. Ability to learn and utilize a working knowledge of broad business environment, energy industry and corporate operations. Ability to work and participate in a team-based environment to accomplish assignments.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of directly related experience in Java, J2EE, Cloud Architectures, Spring Frameworks, and MicroServices or SOA
  • Requires advanced knowledge and is often considered an expert in own area of responsibility. Work
    is performed without appreciable direction and completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results.
  • This position requires the ability to interpret and adapt theory and concepts into workable solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Healthcare and Insurance industry.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
