The Assistant Category Manager (ACM) will be located in CVS’s Merchandising Department in Miami, FL. You will drive budgeted sales, gross margin, and grow market share within your assigned categories. Overall you will be responsible for delivering on the merchandising objectives as they relate to the CVS Strategic plan. You will often take ownership of a core business function such as: promotional planning, plan-a-gram, off-shelf and seasonal planning. Required Qualifications One or more years of experience in a retail organization or in an analytical, merchandising, or buying position Primary responsibilities will be: Driving sales goals in assigned category. Analyzing profit and loss information for the category. Developing sales and margin projections, and assisting the category manager in P&L reconciliation. As the Assistant Category Manager, you will analyze relevant data and incorporate findings and recommendations into Category Plans (i.e., optimal SKU mix; Extracare loyalty program; promotional programs) for merchandising programs from 1 to 3 years that reflect deep personal knowledge of our businesses, customers and clients. You will lead tactical execution of day-to-day plan activities (e.g., builds off-shelf plans, tracks promotional period and performs post appraisal to take corrective action if necessary). Collaborate with an internal team of CVS professionals in Inventory, Pricing, Promotion, Finance, Store Brands, Store Design and Store Operations. You will analyze sales records and inventory levels of current stock to seek new, alternative foreign and domestic suppliers.
In this role you will develop and maintain a deep understanding of current competition to searches out new visionary opportunities and make key strategic recommendations.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 15% Preferred Qualifications Strong working knowledge of retail math concepts and demonstrated application
Validated ability to implement strategies and use negotiation tactics to grow sale
Technical experience in MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; some Access or other database
knowledge Education High School Diploma or GED required Business Overview
