The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for:

Providing proactive support for more than 90 production and 400 non-production Oracle databases, ensuring full compliance of Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Monitoring all production databases to ensure that there are no outages for any CVS applications, including validating that all performance support jobs and backup jobs have run to proper completion at the appointed time and that the databases are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Assisting the application support staff with break fixes on application jobs. The Senior Database Administrator is expected to claim, complete, and close a share of more than 1,000 request tickets each month. Working with a full range of business applications,including multi-terabyte data warehouses and data marts, financial systems using PeopleSoft software and Essbase, Customer Relationship Marketing and Store Facing Online Transactional systems. Providing guidance at several yearly off-site disaster recovery exercises. Providing secondary level production support for over 1,000 Microsoft SQL Server databases. Acting as the primary database contact for several technical projects at a time. This will require the Senior Database Administrator attend all project meetings, where he will represent the database administration team and interface with the project leader and project team, advising on the use of database software, database design, functions, standards, installation, the patching of the RDBMS, database creation in the development, testing, and production environments, security, and tuning. Responsible for creating all application database objects, creation and scheduling of all needed database administration batch jobs, monitoring, backup and production readiness. Coaching other database administrators and assisting in the creation and documentation of new environments, standards, and procedures. Researching new software releases and features and presenting these to the rest of the team. Participating in a production support rotation that provides support for all production databases 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Responsible for approximately ten production databases.

Required Qualifications
A Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a closely related technical field or the foreign equivalent with two years of experience with database administration is required. This two years of experience must include two years of Oracle experience. Caremark will accept a Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience in lieu of a Master’s degree and two years of experience. Multiple positions available. Must apply by 03/23/18.
