Position Summary

The Analytics & Behavior Change (A&BC) department is helping lead the effort to transform healthcare and better outcomes. You will be at the forefront of developing an unprecedented level of personalized insights for CVS Health clients to better understand their pharmaceutical data, and the fact-based business intelligence necessary to make informed decisions on their key healthcare strategies.

The Sr. Analyst will be responsible for working cross-functionally with internal and external partners to deliver analytics products for our Specialty, Novologix and Integrated Pharmacy and Medical clients. The Sr. Analyst will manage a portfolio of analytic projects involving multiple business partners supporting BI tool development, advanced analytics projects, and data integration projects, all of which will support the operational effectiveness and excellence of different business units through data driven decision making.  Provide strategic analytical solutions to deliver innovative analytics products and reporting to our Specialty clients. To succeed in this role, 3 skills will be required: analytic product management, process design and efficiency, and data research and insights.

Analytic Product Management

Responsible to manage entire development lifecycle of medium to large analytics projects from requirements gathering, identifying project deliverables and timelines, define business problems, develop analytic solution, design analytics products, and develop reporting that meets our Specialty client needs. Proactively interact with business partners such as Sales and Account team, Clinical teams, and Product teams to understand business needs and design analytics products that will support Specialty Value Story including, but not limited to, Biosimilar drug impact reporting, Specialty Utilization Trend, Novologix Medical Prior Authorization Outcomes, and Integrated Pharmacy and Medical Specialty reporting. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to establish trust. Proactively identify opportunities, conduct gap analysis, and develop technical solutions to create or improve Specialty client reporting.

Process Design and Efficiency

Proactively identify process gaps and opportunities and design creative solutions to improve efficiencies. Ability to design a fully automated end-to-end self-service analytic product. Collaborate with analytics and non-analytics partners to address any process gaps. Identify inconsistencies and develop standardization to meet highest quality.

Data Research and Insights

Conduct analyses of customer level data to address key business questions and unlock insights that drive value for the business by using statistical techniques to create relevant benchmarks, identify outliers etc. and summarize the data to recommend action using a variety of tools such as SQL, Python, R, SAS, or SSIS packages/jobs. Ability to develop BI dashboard prototypes and conduct appropriate testing using client level data to ensure end product meets business needs. Troubleshoot end user tickets by identifying root cause of the report or data issues and provide and implement remediate plans to resolution.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in analytics, or a Master’s degree plus 2+ years of experience in analytics
  • 3+ years of experience in SAS, SQL, Python, or other statistical and database software
  • 2+ years of experience in BI Data Visualization Tools (e.g. Tableau, MicroStrategy, etc.)
  • Experience developing, implementing, testing, documenting, and maintaining methodologies/outcome metrics for standardized and repeatable reporting for internal and external audiences
  • Analytical experience that includes methodology development, programming (SQL, SAS, Python, etc.), and data summarization and visualization
  • Experience using business analytics to problem solve data-driven questions
  • Experience presenting key analysis findings to stakeholders
  • Creative problem solver, flexible, proactive and ability to work independently in a fast paced, ever changing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience writing macros within VBA
  • Prior knowledge of pharmaceuticals or health care industry
  • Experience extracting, manipulating, and analyzing Big Data (databases containing multiple terabytes of data) and then using it to draw conclusions
  • Experience with cloud-based data; GCP, AWS, etc.
  • Experience working in Agile environment
  • Experience with strategy and also managing details
  • Ability to appropriately prioritize competing projects to ensure focus on highest impact initiatives
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and activities in a timely, organized manner
  • Experience presenting to audiences including technical, non-technical, and senior leaders (both verbally and through the full suite of Microsoft Office products)
  • Ability to interact with others in a collegial and professional manner to support internal partners, and help foster teamwork and knowledge sharing to complete key tasks

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Degree related to analytics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or other data related fields preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$72,100.00 – $154,500.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
