**Hybrid work schedule based in our NYC office. Must be able to commute to NYC 3 days per week every other week.

Position Summary

The Decision Scientist at CMX (CVS Media Exchange) is responsible for leveraging advanced data analysis techniques, such as causal analysis, to extract actionable insights from large and imperfect datasets. The role involves problem-solving and uncovering valuable insights to drive data-informed decision-making. Experience in the advertising industry is a plus.

  • Perform advanced data analysis using statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and data visualization to derive meaningful insights. When the data is limited, you are comfortable with leveraging statistics and probability theory to estimate.
  • Conduct causal analysis to understand the impact of various factors on key business metrics.
  • You are comfortable playing in an imperfect data world, where you have signal loss, imperfect targeting, lack of ground truth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business problems and formulate data-driven hypotheses.
  • Develop models and algorithms to optimize advertising strategies and solve complex challenges.
  • Present findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science techniques and tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in causal analysis and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in statistical and causal inference techniques, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization methods.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, and experience with SQL for data querying and manipulation.
  • Solid understanding of experimental design and conducting A/B tests.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for effectively conveying insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the advertising and marketing industry.
  • Experience in estimating long-term impact of experiments.
  • Experience working in GCP and clean rooms is a plus.

Education

  • BS degree or equivalent work experience in Economics, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Master's degree is preferred
  • PhD in Economics is desired

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$82,915.00 – $175,100.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
