CVS Health® and DisabilityIN collaborate to promote digital access and inclusion for over 1 billion people with disabilities globally. The Executive Director of Accessibility spearheads the program ensuring digital assets, products, and services are accessible to everyone, including those with disabilities. At CVS Health, we see digital accessibility as integral to our operations, emphasizing the collective responsibility to foster a more accessible world. 

In partnership with Break Through Tech & City University New York (CUNY), CVS Health hosts college students for Sprinternships™. Students can tackle customized challenges while being immersed in HTML, CSS, JavaScript through Visual Studio Code, and more. Students can also meet with leaders from our Women in Technology and Women in Data & Analytics colleague resource groups, as well as IT Leadership Development rotational program participants. 

At CVS Health, we’re working to bridge the accessible technology skills gap and support using inclusive technologies that engage the skills of employees with disabilities. We sponsor Teach Access in support of their mission to promote teaching accessible technology design and development to students in higher education and beyond. The partnership helps students in fields such as design, computer science and human computer interaction be better prepared when entering the workforce to create technologies that are truly inclusive meeting the demands of technology users of all ages and abilities. 

CVS Health in partnership with Discovery Partners Institute and Interapt launched a Chicago/Skills Program to give residents an opportunity to develop the technical skills needed to kickstart a new career in data science, software development, digital marketing, UX design, robotic process automation, information technology, and other tech-related fields. Through our expanded collaboration with Interapt, we are able to open doors of opportunity for people across the region by creating high-quality career pathways to meet their needs, as well as those of the local economy.

Career Development

We’re committed to continued Learning & Development at CVS Health. With this mission as a top priority, we launched a monthly Tech Talk series to bring together thousands of our Digital, Data & Analytics, and Technology colleagues. Each month, they join technology thought leaders and subject matter experts from across the enterprise for an engaging trio of technical talks, demos, and code reviews. Participants have had the opportunity to dive deeper into Medicare with Open AI GPT, Site Reliability Engineering, the CVS Metaverse and more.

For colleagues who are looking for technical skill development, the Continuous Learning Academy is a core learning solution that provides flexible educational opportunities designed to increase colleague competency and confidence. The Continuous Learning Academy provides best in class technical and professional skill building and supports career growth across our Digital, Data, Analytics and Technology organization. This scalable approach to learning empowers our colleagues to accelerate their careers, embrace emerging technologies and drive our technical vision for transforming healthcare. 

The STRETCH team is a group of CVS Health women who are committed to finding ways to open avenues and experiences for our colleagues. Their goal is to provide opportunities for women who are working in technology to leverage their existing skill set, learn new skills, and gain visibility within the organization STRETCH assignments are hands-on work experiences that serve as gateways to gaining the experience needed to strengthen skills and expertise. 

Engineers Week is a celebration to help increase awareness and drive a diverse and well-educated pipeline of students into engineering and technology careers.  CVS Health hosts live, in-person and virtual events to celebrate, educate and engage thousands of STEM colleagues including leader spotlights, panel discussions, tech talks, code demos and technology deep dives from colleagues across the enterprise. 

Each year, CVS Health hosts a Women in Technology Summit, welcoming colleagues across Digital, Data, Analytics and Technology to get real about transforming health care. They learn from keynote speakers and interactive breakout sessions around Generative AI, advancements in digital health, and impacting change in health care and the tech community.

After-College Leadership Programs   

Our after-college leadership programs provide extensive learning opportunities, area-specific training, and access to a wide network of mentors. There are many opportunities within the programs to explore new technologies and expand the art of what is possible including working with emerging technologies, asset & data protection, hybrid cloud, design/solution architecture, and so much more.
