Why did you apply at CVS Health?
I applied to this particular location because I grew up going to this store. The service I received here prior to coming into this role was always exceptional, and I wanted to be a part of a team that felt like family.
What has been your most memorable moment working with colleagues at CVS Health?
My colleagues are very supportive and in a way a second family to me. Here in Hawaii we always treat others like family and with the aloha spirit.
What surprised you about the company when you joined CVS Health?
The fact that they had a beauty consultant role, at the time I was just a cashier. I didn’t expect such a position in a drug store environment, however I jumped at the opportunity when it opened up. I’ve loved my job ever since.
How do you make an impact on your customers, colleagues, or community through your work with CVS Health?
I’m able to impact my customers, colleagues, and community through showing compassion. I always try to bring my personal best every day. I always make it a priority to make memorable and lasting connections through showing empathy and compassion. My store is in a small hometown, and a lot of my customers come just to have someone to talk to and be heard.
What are your top 3 focus areas in your job?
My top 3 focus areas in my job are customer service, achieving sales goals, and product knowledge — keeping with current trends.

My team is supportive, fun, and reliable.
What accomplishment are you most proud of since you have joined CVS Health?
I am most proud of making lasting connections with my customers who have now become like family. They always come to the store to look for me, and shop with me.
How do you demonstrate your commitment to the future of health care in your work?
I’m able to demonstrate my commitment to the future of health care at work by ensuring I educate the customers, and make sure I listen to their needs to get them on the best regimens. For example, my store is located in historic Haleiwa town known for surfing, and beaches. We get a lot of tourist customers who aren’t always educated on sunscreen, how to apply it, and when to apply it. I’m always ensuring I educate all my customers on the importance and proper application of sun care.
What/who inspires you?
My store team inspires me. Everyone is very hard working, and helpful. Having such a great team motivates me to bring my personal best everyday.
What is the greatest advice someone has ever given you?
The greatest advice I’ve ever received has been “be true to yourself”. At the end of the day, you’re in control of your own life.
What is one important skill you think every person should have?
Every person should have more love and kindness. The world would be so much better if we could all just show more kindness and love throughout the day.

I wouldn’t be able to do my job without the help and guidance of manager, Destiny. She is always willing to help me, and challenge me in my career.
Do you have special talent you'd like to share with us?
My special talent is to understand my customers, and colleagues through being empathic to all their needs and wants.
Can you share a specific example of a time you demonstrated courage in your role at CVS Health?
I demonstrated courage when I took the role of a beauty consultant. I was never one to use lots of makeup and didn’t really know how properly apply makeup. In a sense it was very intimidating to me at first, but with the help and guidance of my leaders and YouTube I was able to learn and put my fear aside.
What’s your favorite thing to do in your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my kids in my free time.
