Why did you apply at CVS Health?
My initial application in 1994 was to earn money to pay for my 1990 Pontiac :)
What is the most exciting part of working for CVS Health?
As a pharmacist. The most exciting part of my current role is that I get an opportunity to impact our patients and customers by recruiting and hiring quality retail and health professionals to serve our communities. Our patients need someone to care, and we are uniquely positioned to help them be healthier than they were before walking into our store.
What do you tell your friends and family about working at CVS Health?
We are a hard working organization that requires colleagues to give their best to produce results. Our purpose and belief in the ability of health care providers and patients to partner together to achieve great things drives us forward every day.
Describe your typical day at work at CVS Health.
A typical day means being ready for ANYTHING. Our merchants and pharmacists must be prepared and planned in their approach to daily work. It is a GUARANTEE that something unexpected will occur. You may have a flu outbreak or a rush on the latest eye liner and you must be agile and be able to take actions that can handle either situation. As leaders, you must also be able to support your teams and ensure they are showing up at their best every day, which means you have to lead by example, provide useful feedback, and ensure they execute flawlessly.
What are your career goals?
My career has continued to take me in unexpected areas. My next steps are to continue to develop my skills in the Human Resources industry and take on new projects of increasing impact on our business.
What does “lead with heart” mean to you?
Show true care and leadership to your team members and they will do the same for your customers.
